Connecting Our Communities

Matching Gifts and Volunteer Hour Match

We are humbled by our employees’ passion for individual giving and volunteering. That’s why we honor their commitment by matching donations and the value of the time they volunteer – to reinforce their significant efforts and support the organizations they care about most.

Connecting Our Communities

Global Month of Caring

This signature volunteering event is an extension of our team’s passion for giving back in their local communities. Hosted in more than 50 countries each September, this event provides all Expedians the opportunity to join together, giving their time and talents to make meaningful contributions where they work and live.

Connecting Our Communities

Community Engagement

At Expedia Group, we know how important thriving and healthy communities are to travelers and our employees. As a good neighbor, we are proud of our work supporting the communities where we live and work, including our long-standing partnerships with a diverse range of community-based organizations. We support partners that align with our core values – equity, inclusion and social justice, and represent the range of our employee identities across the globe.

Connecting Our Communities

Responding to Disasters

When disasters strike, addressing immediate needs is paramount. But disaster-giving cannot end there. Funding strategic, long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts can help strengthen communities and position them to better withstand future disasters. With this in mind, we are proud to partner with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) to fund medium- and long-term recovery with an equity-focus. Expedia Group is contributing to CDP’s ongoing work in the U.S. through donations to the Disaster Recovery Fund, Atlantic Hurricane Season Recovery Fund, and California Wildfires Recovery Fund, as well as their international work through the Global Recovery Fund.

Human Rights

  • As a platform of connection points across the travel industry, we recognize the vital importance of upholding human rights standards ensuring all people are treated with dignity and respect across our business. We prohibit all forms of modern enslavement, servitude, forced labor, and human trafficking. We detail our commitment in our Modern Slavery Statement and Vendor Code of Conduct
  • In 2021 we created a Human Rights Salience Assessment aligned to the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, including additional resources and a unique collaboration with experts on our Inclusion & Diversity team. We continually develop new partnerships to help safeguard human rights and address the particular challenges of human trafficking or forced labor in the hospitality industry.

Expedia Group supports The Lantern Project, is a member of BSR’s Human Rights Working Group, and supports the UN Standards of Conduct for Business on Tackling Discrimination against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and Asexual (LGBTQIA) people.
